FIFDH x GVA2 : Israel – Palestine: What Future for Peace?
Event
GVA2
Tuesday 11 March 2025
Restaurant La Perle du Lac
An open and courageous dialogue on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
On the sidelines of the FIFDH, which had invited them to a roundtable discussion following the screening of the film “There is another way,”, the GVA2 association had the honor of welcoming two leading figures committed to peace: Ofer Bronchtein, former advisor to Yitzhak Rabin, President of the International Forum for Peace, and current advisor to Emmanuel Macron on Middle Eastern affairs, and Hiba Qasas, Director of the Principles for Peace Foundation, involved in the “Uniting for Shared Future” coalition. This initiative works to lay the groundwork for a social contract between Palestinians and Israelis, based on shared values such as mutual recognition, security, dignity, equality, healing, and the rebuilding of trust.
The dinner provided a space to address the deep traumas caused by the events of October 7, 2023, as well as the consequences of decades of separation and mutual misunderstanding. The speakers called for an alliance of pragmatists, rooted in common interest, to move beyond maximalist narratives and revive a momentum for peace—supported by civil societies, media, and regional partners.
Geneva was praised as a neutral place for meetings and dialogue, where concrete initiatives are emerging to bring together hundreds of stakeholders from both sides—in Israel, Palestine, and across the region.
